SuperStar

A fresh story, a different concept, good performances, well directed with heart touching music.

Rohit Jugraj after James showed his impressive work as director, it is very difficult to shoot the double role concept but he did it well. Earlier double role movies had limited concepts but his one was special with Sudip Sharma who wrote the script intelligently about a struggling actor who starts working as a duplicate. The story had a real life touch which made viewers to connect with the character. Kunal Khemu's performance was also special and it seemed like he was the only one fit for the role. Other performences by Tulip Joshi, Aushima Sawhney, Sharat Saxena, Reema Lagoo were also very good. Special salute for an intense performance to a very good actor Darshan Jariwala who played as the father, the antagonist.
That was not all in the movie, of-course editing was fine but there was something which had a magnetic effect.....Music of the movie. Shamir Tandon's compositions were heart touching as well as gave a good support to the movie.
Even after good work by cast and crew the movie didn't work well on the box office, the reason being viewers were not happy with the cast. Publicity was good but still lacked to draw public attention as a basic Indian mentality people watch movies in cinema hall only when there is a STAR cast. Although the music was very good which was praised by the listeners from the first day but movie was appriciated the day when it was telecasted on television.
Out of 5 I’ll give 3. Hope the Indian mentality will change one day.

“Good work gets recognition one day”
